Yofran is reunited with his family!

Earlier this year, Yofran was arrested by ICE and placed in detention - separated from his wife and three children. 

With the help of an immigration attorney and an attorney with expertise in habeas law, Yofran was released from detention last month. Afterwards his friends and church family hosted a festive barbecue in his honor. 

I had the good fortune to attend the barbecue, where Yofran and his wife emphatically asked me to thank CIJF donors for their support. So on behalf of Yofran’s family, thank you!!
 

You are helping us reunite families!

Last month, we asked you to consider donating toward our goal of raising $30,000 to help us free more immigrants from detention via habeas petitions. 

We are grateful to say that you all donated nearly $34,000 toward this goal, exceeding our expectations!

Last week, 9 immigrants for whom we submitted habeas petitions were released from detention and reunited with their families. 

Thus far in 2026, we have funded 25 habeas petitions, 14 have been granted and 11 are pending. As of this writing, none have been denied. Thanks to your generosity, we are in the midst of funding more habeas petitions this month.
