Partnering with immigrants in support of asylum seekers

Ary Radnaeva is an indigenous Buryat who immigrated to the US from Siberia over a decade ago. In recent years, large numbers of Buryats have fled Siberia to avoid being sent to the front lines of the Russian/Ukrainian war.

Ary launched the Nutag Foundation to help Buryat asylum seekers resettle in the United States, including our friend Tumen, whose successful asylum case CIJF funded earlier this year. 

Ary recently contacted CIJF regarding an elderly and ill Buryat couple, based in California, who are seeking asylum. Ary was able to connect with a trusted attorney in California who agreed to take their cases at a discounted rate. 

CIJF and the Nutag Foundation are sharing the financial load to fund the cases, having finalized the details last week.
