CIJF funds asylum clinics

Asylum seekers are required to formally apply for asylum within one year of entering the US. The process is complicated and difficult to complete without the assistance of an attorney.

Denver attorney Ale Sabra runs asylum clinics 3 - 4 times per month to provide this service. CIJF funds a legal assistant to provide 20 hours of logistical support per week. Amanda’s support is critical to ensure that the clinics run smoothly.

CIJF began funding these efforts on March 10; since that time, Ale and team have

  • hosted 9 clinics

  • submitted 56 asylum applications

  • served immigrants from 5 countries

  • trained 11 new volunteers

  • connected with 8 community organizations in support of the work

Thank you, Ale and team- we appreciate you!
